As a social worker, Shannon believes the empowered residents must be at the center of determining and sustaining their communities. Shannon is excited to see how her experiences inform her role in defining impact and uplifting community success stories.
Shannon held previous roles as a Project Manager and Assistant Project manager at Urban Strategies, where she supported and led community-based federal initiatives, and engaged community members in those processes. Previously, Shannon has supported campaign development, events, and communications at a couple of nonprofits, including a stint as an AmeriCorps VISTA.
Shannon holds a BA in Television and Film from Boston University and a Master’s in Social Work from the Brown School of Social Work at Washington University. She also serves on the board of directors for Metropolitan Congregations United. In her spare time, Shannon enjoys catnaps with her cat, documentaries, take out food, and true crime. Shannon lives in the Central West End and enjoys a walk to Murphy Pond in Forest Park every now and then.
